Vice President, Commercial Technology and Applications Development

We're looking for an amazing Commercial Technology Executive to fill this role. You'll be responsible for leading development teams who provide digital ecommerce mobile and web platforms for our guests, in addition to marketing and customer relationship technologies, data engineering and analytics, data architectural platforms, technical integrated solutions for our business partners. The VP's team acts as the liaison to, and representative of, the business for all contact center and reservation technology strategy and prioritization discussions while closely partnering with the internal and external stakeholders responsible for managing and developing the technical platforms. The ideal candidate welcomes the challenge of turning complex business requirements into technical solutions that drive revenue and enhanced customer experiences. The VP will remain current on technology trends and related products and platforms, including leading technical implementation of Holland America Line and Seabourn AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the senior leadership team responsible for management, modernization, and support of commercial technologies and the HAL/SBN data environment. Establishes expectations for and is accountable for the execution of all projects and initiatives, in addition to insuring stability of the applications and technical environments in partnership with the infrastructure team. Utilizes product knowledge to ensure accurate product and development recommendations are provided by his or her team. Presents in-depth business cases and financial reports to the head of technology and the rest of the HAL/SBN executive leadership team.

• Collaborates with the commercial teams to fully understand their strategies and to identify opportunities for enhancements and integrations. Develops the technical strategy to support the ecommerce, data, analytics, reporting and machine learning requirements of the business. This includes creating a technical roadmap for cross-channel marketing, sales, service, and the Brands' website, guest mobile app, and overall customer personalization strategy.

• Builds, manages, and mentors high performing, globally diverse onshore and offshore teams to meet commitments within budget and provided timelines. Continuously finds opportunities to decrease costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining a balanced number of resources to address changing business priorities.

• Responsible for the team's strategic roadmap and responsibilities; capital and operational plan; vendor selection; and all related security and compliance requirements.

• Meets with vendors to evaluate products that meet the needs of the business prior to team engagement. Approves complex technical and architectural decisions to ensure modern application development, security, privacy, and ADA compliance standards and best practices are achieved and maintained.

• Collaborates with infrastructure senior leaders to evaluate product and architectural strategies and dependencies impacting their technical roadmaps. Communicates with business senior leaders related to all responsibilities including sister brands (e.g., Cunard NA and CAU) who use HAL IT's marketing technology and data services. Clearly articulates business impact for all development decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Management Information Systems.

• MBA preferred however not required for consideration

• 15+ years - experience utilizing and/or supporting commercial technologies and data analytics/platforms

• 10+ years - strategic business experience related to ecommerce platforms and marketing technology

• 10+ combined years of executive leadership and senior management experience related to commercial technology

• 5+ years - experience with evaluating, adopting & integrating new and evolving technologies where appropriate

• Expertise with product management and development, support, and system integrations is required

• Solid understanding of application architecture, design, Integration, and administration

• Experience with data architecture and engineering is preferred

• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong thought-leadership and influential communication skills

• Proven track record of on-time execution and delivery of projects

• Ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Base SalaryRange: $210,000.00 to $260,00.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
