    The University Advancement Information Management Team has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Technical Project Manager. This is a 12-month full-time temporary position.

    As a member of the Project Management Office (PMO) this role will participate in selecting, prioritizing and evaluating technology projects. Working closely with IM and Advancement leadership, this role will help define success and ensure project and portfolio results align with Advancement priorities. This role will assist IM colleagues identify areas for continuous improvement and work with senior leadership to develop their understanding of PMO processes and maximize Advancement Operation's positive impact.

    This role will be responsible for managing and successfully closing a broad range of high-profile, complex projects at UA. This position requires a broad spectrum of skills, including IT knowledge (networking, telecommunications, data center, cloud-based computing, security), business process analysis, problem-solving, public relations, contract negotiation, cost structuring, financial management/budgeting, and extensive project management skills.

    What You Will Do:

    • Develop, manage and continually improve the project portfolio and IT Governance processes.
    • Work with key stakeholders to draft charters (goals, deliverables, resource requirements, milestones, timelines, tasks and assignments) in accordance with PMO standards and policies.
    • Keep project progress on track, manage risk, provide status updates, and escalate issues, as appropriate, to sponsors, team members and other stakeholders to keep them informed.
    • Provide strategic leadership on project management within UW Advancement, participating in the management of tools, platforms and methods related to the same.

    What You Bring:

    • Advanced project management skills.
    • Experience with enterprise application development, SDLC processes, re-engineering, and process improvement.
    • Experience deploying large, complex systems and implementing business process redesign.
    • Experience in project and software development lifecycles and related tools, including issue tracking systems, configuration management systems, requirements management systems, and project management systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage large technology projects within a team environment.
    • Ability to speak and write about technical and non-technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science or a related field AND a minimum of five years of experience managing progressively complex IT projects in applications, infrastructure and networking along with a comprehensive understanding of the underlying technologies.

    • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
