Systems Engineer

Description We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team located in Westbrook, Connecticut. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of support technicians, optimizing ticket management processes, overseeing system maintenance activities, managing system lifecycle, and maintaining configuration and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of support technicians, fostering a results-driven culture and emphasizing continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.

• Develop and implement robust ticket management processes to ensure efficient and timely resolution of support issues.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute routine system maintenance activities, including software updates, patches, and security enhancements.

• Oversee the replacement of end-user endpoints, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to upgrade schedules.

• Implement and monitor advanced performance metrics to assess system health and identify areas for improvement.

• Establish and maintain comprehensive configuration management processes to track and control changes to the IT infrastructure.

• Collaborate with the configuration management team to ensure consistency and compliance with established standards.

• Develop, implement, and enhance change management processes to assess, document, and control changes in the IT environment.

• Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring timely resolution of support-related issues.

• Conduct regular assessments of the support team's skill sets and develop customized training programs.

• Facilitate cross-training initiatives to enhance the team's versatility in handling a diverse range of support tasks. Requirements - Proficiency in Cisco Technologies is mandatory for this role.

• Familiarity with Citrix Technologies is expected.

• A strong understanding of Database management is required.

• Experience with Dell Technologies is necessary.

• Knowledge of EO/IR systems is a must.

• Experience with AB Testing is essential.

• Proficiency in Active Directory is needed.

• Familiarity with Backup Technologies is required.

• Knowledge of Computer Hardware is necessary.
