Staff Accountant

Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail? Robert Half is currently seeking a talented Staff Accountant, with a fast-track to Assistant Controller, to join one of our esteemed clients, a well-known group of dealerships located in North Little Rock, AR. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while supporting the finance team in various accounting functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close procedures including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.

• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business initiatives.

• Assist with internal and external audit processes.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to management as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in the automotive industry or dealership accounting preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
