    This role provides leadership to develop/execute value-added patient recruitment ' retention (PR'R) strategies to enhance efficiency of phase I-IV Clinical Development ' Operations, (CD'O) studies. The incumbent leads the US CD'O Patient Recruitment ' Retention group within a matrix organization to ensure the goals and objectives of the group are met. The SR AD, Patient Recruitment ' Retention strategically leads their team to ensure full compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) ' International Conference on Harmonization (ICH), quality, safety of patients, data integrity and business goals.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Promotes customer-centric behaviors:

    • Increases awareness and enhances the reputation of the PR'R group with internal/external stakeholders.

    • Partners with global/local CD'O functions to identify PR'R risks for phase I-IV clinical trials.

    • Partners with functional stakeholders to ensure relevant patient feedback is incorporate into strategic plans.

    • Provides strategic and operational support to Clinical Trial Leader/Manager (CTL/CTM) to mitigate risks and accelerate enrollment.

    Operational oversight

    • Responsible for the development, execution and oversight of recruitment ' retention campaigns.

    • Measures return on investment (ROI) and advocates for high value-add campaigns.

    • Partners with US CD'O Business Operations to develop relevant KPIs/metrics.

    • Routinely evaluates/reports performance against internal/external objectives.

    • Identifies and resolves technical operational problems relating to management of patient recruitment ' retention initiatives.

    • Conduct early operational planning and research to evaluate competitive landscape, enrollment modeling, disease prevalence, site identification and more.

    • Help manage relationships with existing vendors and ensure vendors are compliant based on Boehringer's SOPs.

    • Access the effectiveness of all recruitment and retention materials, tools and tactics and work with vendor management to develop a KPI dashboard to evaluate vendor performance.

    Manages resources in support of BI current and future portfolio

    • Develops algorithms to estimate, analyze and manage budget and resource needs.

    • Proactively engages senior management to ensure work can be delivered to timelines and quality standards.

    • Manages In-sourced Service Provider (ISP) resourcing in line with workload needs.

    Promotes innovation and continuous improvement

    • Maintains a robust external view of patient engagement/recruitment landscape to influence adoption of best practices, new technologies and vendors to increase the quality and efficiency study recruitment.

    • Develops/adapts strategies with internal/external stakeholders to accelerate initiatives in response to lessons learned/performance feedback.

    • Ensures the maintenance and availability of PR'R data and documentation and ensures compliance.

    • Defines SOP curriculum and ensures departmental adherence to all relevant SOP/KMs and regulatory policies.

    • Collect and promote application of best practices and lessons learned across all programs.

    • Proof and edit materials during development and provide feedback on cultural accuracy, design elements and written content.

    • Constantly evaluate the industry landscape to identify new potential vendors that offer innovative solutions including those who specifically have solutions for underrepresented populations.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferably in Science, Healthcare, Nursing) with a minimum ten (10) years of job-related experience.

    • Advanced degree from an accredited institution e.g., MSc, PhD or equivalent (preferably in Science Healthcare, Nursing, Business) plus a minimum eight (8) years job related experience.

    • Minimum of eight (8) years experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

    • Understanding of all phases of drug development (I-IV).

    • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and guidelines governing clinical research preferred.

    • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams in a matrix organization.

    • Demonstrated experience in leading or conducting similar work within Pharma industry.

    • Understanding of patient recruitment, retention and diversity requirements for clinical studies.

    • Experience leading/managing various methods of recruitment including digital tools.

    • Demonstrated experience assembling and leading collaborative teams toward a shared vision of success.

    Compensation

    This position offers a base salary typically between $135,000 and $232,000.? The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements. ?For an overview of our benefits please click here. (~~~)
