    Overview

    THE ROLE:

    The Industrial Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist serves as a resource to ensure all environmental, health and safety expectations are met as directed for the respective U.S. site(s) designated. This individual provides leadership, coordination, and technical expertise in all areas of environmental, health and safety compliance to achieve excellence. This position will have the accountability for establishing reliable methods for improving safety and health performance. Furthermore, this position will also work with all area locations to ensure safe working conditions and interact with team members and management to continually reinforce safe work practices while encouraging positive safety behavior. The IEHS Specialist will sustain a culture where safety is an overriding value in all activities and in which every employee assumes responsibility for safety and assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

    HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE :

    • Monitors Safety, Environmental and Health Programs

    • Reviews, updates, and prepares all necessary documents and files for regulatory compliance.

    • Maintains compliance with local, state and federal agencies for EHS.

    • Assists in evaluations and improving safe work practices and conditions.

    • Chair monthly Safety Committee Meetings on all required shifts.

    • Assist in any medical situations resulting from injury or illness.

    • Conducts Ergonomic Assessments as requested or required.

    • Implements and maintains the Near Miss program.

    • Preforms and administers all Accident/Incident Reports & Investigations.

    • Confirms and reports all work-related, lost time and recordable accidents.

    • Maintains Lockout/Tag out (LOTO) program.

    • Communicates the Hazardous Communication Program.

    • Assists in maintaining the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).

    • Monitors Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program.

    • Develops and oversees the JSA (Job Safety Analysis) program.

    • Facilitates the Forklift training and Train-The-Trainer programs.

    • Monitors SDS Program (Safety Data Sheets) for respective facility(s)

    • Provides Safety overview to incoming third-party contractors.

    • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

    • Proficient in developing and presenting effective training presentations.

    • Ability to schedule and keep up with a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining clear communication and objectives throughout the team.

    • Detailed oriented with the ability to adhere to tight and overlapping deadlines.

    • Strong customer results orientated.

    • Strong written and oral communication skills required.

    • Efficient with computer proficiencies.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional presence.

    • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.

    • Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.

    • Ability to function as an effective team member.

    • Bilingual - Spanish

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years + Bachelor's, or 4 additional years of relevant professional work experience with safety, environmental, health & hazardous waste in lieu of degree (which means a minimum of 7 years of work experience with HS diploma/GED equivalent).

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree; may consider candidate with High School Diploma or equivalent plus additional 4 years of relevant work experience (for a total of 7 years in lieu of degree).

    • OSHA 10- and 30-hours training certification.

    • OSHA 501 & 511 training.
