  • Overview

    As a Sonographer at CHI Lisbon Health, you'll provide good quality examinations on patients using various ultrasound equipment. The Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

    Every day, you will perform various tests on patients. You'll apply your independent judgment relative to all technical imaging procedures for patients.

    To thrive in this role, you are self-motivated, and able to take ownership of projects/assignments; you understand sonography methods and are capable of performing venipuncture as required for position. You're able to demonstrate ability to set and maintain multiple tasks in an environment with shifting priorities, while providing accurate deliverables in a timely fashion. You're a team player with excellent follow-up and customer service skills including strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills to provide excellence to both guests and team members.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for operating imaging equipment, and reviewing images to be sure they are of good quality and helpful for diagnosis.

    • Identify normal and abnormal imaging results, communicate results to physicians or other health professionals, and alert physicians to urgent problems.

    • Diligent in preparing patients for procedures and educating patients throughout the ultrasound exam.

    • Work with a variety of departments in the hospital to work collaboratively with review of patient medical history, documenting imaging results in patient records, and coordinating care.

    Qualifications

    • Registration in at least one of the following areas of sonography is required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible.Registry preferred within two years after hiring.

    • Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board required.

    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).

    Preferred:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging, Allied Health Certificate/Diploma or a minimum of one year equivalent work experience is preferred.

    • General, vascular and breast experience preferred.
