    Description

    Customer is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer ( Senior Network Engineer) to join the Global Network Implementation team. AGN is a globally distributed network that services and supports a community of interest within the Aviation and Transportation industries. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable and secure world-wide network architecture to our customers.

    The successful candidate will serve as a member of the AGN Implementation team that is responsible for maintaining and operating the Global Network. The candidate must be familiar with advanced networking concepts and technologies which include routing, switching, firewalls, and cloud-based technologies primarily on Cisco platforms. Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage multiple projects from start to finish

    • Directly interfacing with customers

    • Order and activate WAN circuits; troubleshoot if necessary

    • Procure equipment per project requirements

    • Configure equipment according to set design

    • Coordinate shipping and/or export control (as required)

    • Create cutover/migration plans for major activities

    • Schedule and perform cutovers with customers

    • Update documentation (change orders, asset records, circuit records and diagrams)

    • Provide specialized support to AGN customers

    • Provide customized utilization analysis and reports to business units and/or customers

    • Provide pre-sales support for multiple business units

    Basic Qualifications

    • Extensive experience working in a large scale Wide Area Network (WAN) environment

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage time for multiple ongoing projects

    • Willingness to work evenings and weekend to accommodate customer's change windows

    • Proficient with Cisco routers and switches

    • Strong knowledge of common network routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF

    • Proficient in all variations of Network Address Translations (NAT)

    • Proficient with building complex ACLs, Prefix-lists, and Route-Maps

    • Proficient with Cisco ASA firewalls and the use of the command line

    • Experience with WAN technologies and protocols such as T1/E1, Frame-Relay, HDLC, DSL, Cellular, MPLS, and DMVPN

    • Experience building L2L/S2S VPNs on ASA firewalls.

    • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and/or isolating network related problems

    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to regional Data Centers or customer locations (<5%)

    • Minimum of six years hands on experience in configuring Cisco routers.

    Desired Experience

    • Previous experience working as a project lead

    • Proven experience working closely with WAN Service Providers

    • Experience working in a Service Provider environment

    • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA firewalls

    • Experience with Amazon Web Services Direct Connect (DX) and/or other Cloud Services equivalent

    • Experience with Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN)

    • Experience with Juniper networking products

    Education or Certification Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) a plus

    • Cisco Certified Network Profession (CCNP) a plus

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate - Security (CCNA Security) a plus
