Position Summary:
The Senior Director, Marketing is responsible for achieving ambitious marketing goals, working cross-functionally, and directly impacting the success of the company by effectively communicating our value and solidifying Core-Mark's relationship with our convenience stores customers and the broader convenience retail industry. A successful candidate will have experience with development, delivery and execution of industry and regional corporate tradeshows and a deep knowledge of the tools and metrics necessary to effectively market in a digital world. You will be able to ask hard questions that challenge the status quo and lead to new thinking about our brand, innovation, and go-to-market strategy. You must be a data-driven & strategic thought leader, a motivated self-starter, an effective communicator, and have excellent relationship-building skills, with a passion for upholding brand integrity and helping shape a cohesive marketing strategy that drives acquisition, engagement, and loyalty.
In this role, you will report to the EVP, Marketing for the Convenience segment and lead a team of marketing professionals
Responsibilities:
Lead strategic growth initiatives, developing and driving an integrated & cohesive brand strategy, creative campaigns, and digital content.
Oversee all event logistics for industry and regional corporate tradeshows
Assist in the development of strategies, goals, budgets, benchmarking and surveying for all industry and regional corporate tradeshows
Ensure the development and delivery/execution of industry and regional corporate tradeshows, as well as other events related projects while ensuring the consistency of the Core-Mark brand and message through all aspects of tradeshows and events.
Reviewing results of initiatives and lead innovation and improvements to evolve the tradeshow experience
Lead all facets of Core-Mark's participation in the NACS tradeshow including all logistical coordination with exhibit partner and onsite support
Partner with internal and external creative teams/industry partners to develop and execute email & social marketing campaigns that capture the voice of Core-Mark and effectively communicate value to our target audience
Oversee the creative process/development of assets and communicate all creative needs to internal and external creative teams.
Enhance the Marketing Operations intake process, tracking, and effective execution for all projects & campaigns
Ensure brand integrity is maintained throughout all projects & communications across the organization
Develop and track KPIs to effectively implement performance improvement for all campaign strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field is highly preferred
CMP Certification is a huge plus
10+ years of specific experience in B2B marketing and campaign management of digital and social, ideally in the food & beverage industry
7+ years of tradeshow and event management experience
5+ years of experience effectively leading and coaching a team
Ability to develop creative and compelling messaging in alignment with our brand and overall marketing strategy
Strong verbal & written executive communication skills
Ability to deliver compelling, concise, and clear insights into performance
Outstanding project management & organization skills - strong ability to prioritize high-impact activities and keep complex projects moving forward
Eager to take initiative and balance a fast-paced environment
A "can do" attitude with a strong drive for results
Ability to travel to events and tradeshows is required
