The Senior Business Systems Analyst position requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of the business systems analysis function. The ideal candidate will be able to solve complex technical problems and exercise best judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. At times, the Senior Business Systems Analyst may be required to act as a liaison between the IT development group, business units for the development, and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. This role requires the candidate to work independently, with minimal guidance; will be the lead on projects and hold accountability for ongoing activities. The candidate will need to maintain and develop business rules and translate them into solutions that empower both the business and development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Working independently with minimal guidance, maintain applications in various environments including traditional hosting providers, private cloud, and/or public cloud
Apply in-depth knowledge of business systems to perform complex technical assignments
Identify, evaluate, and recommend other key technologies required to support and improve the business process
Implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity, change protocols, customization, usage etc.
Conduct analysis, planning, requirements gathering and logical design of a software product by working with internal and external customers
Gather business requirements from Product Owners/Stakeholders, create user stories and work closely with technology teams to create system requirements
Understand the Software Development Life Cycle and develop an understanding of current products and technology to design and implement solutions to meet the business needs
Work with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver system requirements supporting various Business units by capturing them through artifacts like Business Process flows, Use Cases, Scenarios (including exception handling scenarios), Process flows, screen mockups, Use Case diagrams, Sequence diagrams, non-functional requirements, and functional requirements documentation
Work with various software personnel to support the implementation of system requirements for web-based systems, data warehouse, reporting, and analytics platforms using the delivery artifacts
Participate in the development of best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress
Participate in developing, distributing, and coordinating in-depth end-user reviews for modifying or developing new systems
Utilize established project standards, procedures, and quality objectives
Conduct project kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project/program expectations
Actively participate in external and internal customer interactions
Work with internal and external customers to share domain knowledge and provide input into the development of project planning
Ability to work with internal and external customers to analyze a problem, think creatively and offer a variety of solution options
Key Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 3 years working in Business Systems Analysis or other equivalent experience
In-depth conceptual knowledge related to IT Business Systems
Successful experience working on large, complex projects across multiple departments
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Able to document functional requirements for Process flow diagrams and Unified Modeling Language (UML) for Use Case Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams using tools like MS Visio, MS Word and create mockup web application screens using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Hands on experience in using XML, JSON, CSV
Perform data analysis, data verification using SQl queries for databases like Oracle or MSSQL
Experience in the process of analyzing business needs through scheduling meetings, planning agendas, conferring with business line leaders, documenting and making verbal and written presentations
Experienced in using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and procedures
Demonstrated experience in using industry standard toolsets like MS Word, MS Visio, PowerPoint, MS Excel, SQL queries and methodologies like UML, SDLC to deliver various initiatives
Ability to drive projects forward with limited oversight
Strong understanding of business processes and how to leverage standard system capabilities to support them
Ability to work in a dynamic, agile project environment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to maintain positive working relationships
