Position Summary

Under supervision, responsible for the recruitment of participants (including medical professionals and children with autism) to participate in a federally-funded research project focused on children and adults with autism spectrum disorders. This position is based at the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) located at the Westchester Division in White Plains, NY. Primary responsibilities include behavioral coding, subject recruitment, testing participants with standardized assessments, as well as play-based assessments, managing and analyzing datasets, preparing and maintaining IRB protocols, and running ERP/EEG tasks if needed. This role will work with individuals with autism with varying levels of language and cognitive abilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinates the recruitment and enrollment of study participants. Assesses patient eligibility for inclusion in clinical trials. Ensures proper consent protocols have been followed for study participation.

• Codes videos of parent-child interactions using newly developed treatment outcome measures.

• Organizes, schedules and conducts clinical research assessments using specialized interviews and psychological assessment measures.

• May be required to run ERP/EEG sessions with young children.

• As needed, travels to meet in person with local health care providers to educate them on the project and to enroll them.

• As needed, assists EI providers with scheduling of training and access to project websites, and assists families in completing parent-report screening and diagnostic measures.

• Collects and updates data sets including test scores, demographics and training records. Enters data into databases.

• Maintains paper and electronic research and clinical records in accordance with WCM policies and procedures.

• Carries out and prepares written reports of simple statistical analyses.

• Conducts literature reviews and gains expert familiarity with protocols that will be used as templates.

• Assists faculty in the preparation of grant submissions and associated documentation, which may include just-in-time documents, progress reports, routing forms, abstracts and manuscripts.

• Performs other related duties as directed.

Education

• High School Diploma

Experience

Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field and related experience is preferred.

Experience with autism or with children and families with developmental disabilities or mental health issues preferred.

Familiarity with software including EPrime, R, SPSS, MS Word, Access, and PowerPoint. SAS, Stat, Medline, PsychInfo, and other library resources a plus.

Previous research experience and experience with ERP/EEG experiments desired.

Ability to speak Spanish desired.

Experience with use of social media a plus.

• Must be able to coordinate a large data set with accuracy and provide timely dissemination of information arising from it.
