Public Staff Tax Accountant

Description

We are seeking a Public Staff Tax Accountant for a CPA firm located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity within a dynamic workplace environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, external audits, and a keen understanding of Federal Tax Returns.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the execution of external audits in accordance with the industry standards

• Prepare and file federal tax returns, ensuring all information is accurate and submitted on time

• Collaborate with team members and clients to gather necessary information for tax return preparation

• Monitor and update records of all accounting transactions

• Conduct regular reviews of financial statements and reports to identify errors or discrepancies

• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and procedures

• Implement best practices in tax accounting and stay updated with changes in tax regulations

• Utilize accounting software to record, store, and analyze information

• Manage client relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly

• Provide guidance to junior team members and assist in their professional development.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

• Proficient in handling annual external audits

• Familiarity with federal tax return preparations

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple clients and adhere to tax deadlines

• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong understanding of tax code and regulations
