    The Opportunity

    USAID's INTEGRATE project will contribute to sustaining the gains in the HIV response and enable pandemic preparedness and resilience in the face of other health threats by integrating current HIV systems for prevention, care, and treatment services into existing country health systems and primary health care platforms, in alignment with country priorities.

    As the INTEGRATE Project Director, you will serve as the main point of contact with USAID and provide vision, direction, leadership, and management for the project. You will also serve as the primary representative for all project-related issues, concerns, or problems. You will serve as a thought leader for the project and will work closely with the Technical Director to manage the overarching technical vision and strategy of the project. Approximately 25%-30% of time traveling is estimated for this position.

    This position is contingent upon project award to Abt Global.

    Core Responsibilities

    Program Excellence, Delivery and Expansion

    • Provides executive leadership and is responsible for the overall successful implementation of the program, including by sub awardees.

    • Ensures that core and country activities meet client and internal expectations with regard to quality of work delivered, schedule and budget.

    • Demonstrate leadership in adoption of Abt standard project management best practices, use of Abt's quality assurance systems and processes.

    • Ensures implementation of learning agenda and global knowledge management efforts that generate actionable learnings on how to: effectively integrate HIV services within primary health care systems; leverage HIV infrastructure to the benefit of national and global health security; and ensure high quality and sustainable implementation of HIV treatment and care services within country led models.

    • Enable efficient implementation of INTETRATE core and cross-cutting technical strategies as detailed in the final project design.

    • Design and deliver a technical and organizational capacity building and localization strategy that adheres to USAID/PEPFAR localization strategy.

    • Ensure excellence of INTEGRATE technical delivery, in close collaboration with the Technical Director.

    Grow and Evolve a Diverse and Global Workforce

    • Design and implement an INTEGRATE staff engagement and retention strategy with senior management that is consistent with Abt values.

    • Proactive in coaching and developing emerging talent and other personnel, and ensure direct reports do the same. Ensure the right people are in the right positions in every level of the global project with appropriate development and succession plans.

    • Ensures INTEGRATE contributes positively and explicitly to Abt wide equity, diversity, and inclusion goals.

    Project Financial Metrics

    • Responsible for the project managing to budget including meeting division total revenue and gross profit goal plans.

    • Ensure admin/non-billable costs are monitored and minimized.

    • Report to USAID on time according to contractual financial requirements, including those specific to PEPFAR funding.

    Business Development

    • Oversee the development of a strategy for capturing experience and capabilities developed in Abt through INTEGRATE for utilization for related opportunities.

    • Work with and across Client Engagement and Growth, and the Corporate Growth Office to support and strengthen responses to business opportunities in HIV, integrated service delivery, health systems strengthening, or others clearly aligned with INTEGRATE's scope of work.

    What We Value

    • Bachelor's?Degree + 15 years of relevant experience, or?master's?degree + 12 years of relevant experience, or PhD + 10 years of relevant experience.

    • The direct relevant experience must be in the management or implementation of HIV interventions in PEPFAR-supported countries and regions.

    • Of the years of direct relevant experience, at least three years of combined experience must have been physically based in LMIC countries.

    • Extensive experience working in partnership with U.S. Government agencies, international donors, or other multilateral agencies, including USAID's Office of HIV/AIDS (OHA), PEPFAR/Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy and UNAIDS.

    • Demonstrated success in senior-level leadership to programs of similar magnitude and complexity, with experience managing global or multi-country programming strongly preferred.

    • Demonstrated experience in strengthening local capacity.

    • Skilled collaborator with a history of maintaining successful relationships internally and externally. Prior experience working in highly collaborative, dynamic, matrixed environments.

    • Demonstrated experience contributing thought leadership within the HIV and broader global health spaces on relevant topics including sustainability, integration and localization.

    • Proven experience building and maintaining strong client relationships, including problem-solving complex project issues with client relationship in mind.

    • Experience leading financial management activities, including target-setting, forecasting, and managing project revenue budgets and operating budgets in line with strategic objectives.

    • Fluency in English required; ability to conduct business in one or more relevant language is (French, Spanish, or Portuguese) is preferred.

    This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately?$185,000 to?$240,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.? Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis. ?
