    Summary

    The Process Engineer will ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of all manufacturing processes. He/she will develop, implement, and execute continuous improvement systems to increase manufacturing efficiency and profitability. The Process Engineer will lead the execution of quality and process improvement projects using standard process improvement tools such as MVT/DOE, Kepner Tregoe PSDM (Problem Solving & Decision Making), and statistical process control. He/she will execute approved capital improvements resulting from these projects by coordinating with managers on timelines, budgets, and resources needed. An effective Process Engineer will use the GAF hierarchy of values (Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost) in prioritizing his/her activities while supporting each department's quality goals and improvement plans.

    The Process Engineer reports to the Technical Services Manager. He/She will have a primary focus on the injection molding plant. Additionally, they may provide minor support for the plant located on the same site.

    Essential Duties

    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification, and capability studies

    • Perform PPA/FMEA on all major process and raw material changes

    • Support all plant product, process, and materials trials

    • Provide process design and evaluations for capital projects

    • Analyze production challenges and prepare solutions as requested

    • Participate in and support product improvement and new product development efforts

    • Lead the application and interpretation of SPC charting

    • Train and educate others on Statistical Process Control (SPC) and establish quality policies and procedures; including internal and external personnel, suppliers, and customers as needed

    • Conduct internal compliance audits of production tests, process specifications, plant change notices (PCNs), and other in-plant processes

    • CoordinateplanttrialswithR&Dandplantpersonnel;ensuretrialsareaccurately conducted and reported per required timelines and accounting cycles

    • Provide technical support to operating departments in statistical applications, process capability assessment, and problem-solving

    • Participatesinplanttechnicalsupportactivitiesasrequiredtoachieveplantgoals

    • Communicate effectively with the management team regarding resources that are needed to ensure the timely and accurate execution of process improvement projects

    • Maintain compliance with safety standards, housekeeping, and personnel policies

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Technical Knowledge/Skill

    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve production challenges

    • Familiarwith standardmanufacturing concepts, practices,and procedures

    • Advanced communication skills

    • Proficient with Google Workspace (Google docs, sheets, slides)

    • Knowledge of continuous process equipment, machine design, bearings/lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, AutoCAD, and electronics

    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

    Under This Roof, We Require

    • A BS degree in Engineering, preferably ChE, EE or ME is required.

    • A minimum of 1-3 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals is required.
