Parts Development Engineer

Description

Represent the Development and Quality Engineering interests for all aspects of product as described in areas of responsibility. Consult with all internal departments and component suppliers regarding development related topics. Support the change management (support suppliers, release preparation and maintain/check the related documentation). Communicate simultaneously with the relevant development departments in Sindelfingen & other foreign plants as required. Support the Quality Operations departments and "Service & Parts" by investigating malfunction and solving problems, also at the Dealership / Customer. Examine, measure, inspect, or test defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment. Analyze specific developmental issues and establish long- & short-term countermeasures including cross-functional alignment. Lead cross functional problem solving activities. Assist production in implementing adopted countermeasures (long- & short-term) to ensure production capability during Production Trial (PT) phase. Initiate product planning changes and approve product deviation requests to support product quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project) Experience in interior plastic parts Knowledge of Daimler documentation & issue tracking systems (SMARAGD, DIALOG, ACM, ZEUS, etc.) A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s): "Development/design or quality engineering function relative to area of responsibility. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in (Choose all the apply): Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering/Computer Science Mechanical Engineering Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
