Ocean Export Specialist

Growing logistics company located Northeast Houston (77338) looking for an Ocean Export Specialist to join the team!

Focus includes:

• Booking and scheduling shipments, rate negotiations, coordination, documentation, compliance, inside sales, extensive customer service, and issue resolution

• Serving as the first point of contact for clients/carriers/internal teams regarding shipment status updates to ensure a smooth process and minimize delays

Targeting candidates with:

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, freight handling logistics experience highly preferred

• Strong understanding in freight forwarding Ocean operations processes, procedures and best practices

• Experience transporting hazardous/dangerous materials and goods. IMDG certification preferred.

• Knowledgeable with customs regulations, import/export procedures, and bonded freight/cargo is a MUST!

• Working knowledge of export/import documentation including preparing bills of lading and delivery orders

• Proven ability to negotiate rates and build customer rapport quickly

• Strong problem-solving ability, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and moving targets

• Tech savvy! Previous experience working with logistics softwares and tracking systems. CRM and TMS software helpful!

• Position starts onsite daily with 1 day/week remote once fully trained

• Offering $65-70k depending on experience
