    Overview:

    Prysmian Group, headquartered in Highland Heights, Kentucky, is a leader in the development, design, manufacture, marketing and distribution of copper, aluminum and fiber optic wire and cable products for the communications, energy, industrial and specialty markets. Communications wire and cable products transmit low-voltage signals for voice, data, video and control applications. Energy cables include low-, medium- and high-voltage power distribution and power transmission products.

    The Industrial and Specialty segment is comprised of application-specific cables for uses such as electrical power generation (traditional fuels, alternative and renewable sources, and distributed generation), the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, mining, industrial automation, marine, military and aerospace applications, power applications in the telecommunications industry, and other key industrial segments.

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    As the Manufacturing Manager, you will lead the charge in creating a work environment that prioritizes the safety of all employees. At the same time, you will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and ensuring the consistent production of high-quality products that are delivered on time to customers within established cost targets.

    The Manufacturing Manager reports to the Plant Director and is responsible for managing the manufacturing process of multiple value streams. The manufacturing manager will have a combination of Value Stream managers and Production coordinators reporting directly to them. They are tasked with effectively utilizing materials, labor, and equipment to meet the business plan while ensuring a safe work environment.

    The Manufacturing manager oversees the total production of the facility, including safety records, production requirements, defect levels, waste, and work order attainment. This role is critical in ensuring efficient and effective production processes to meet customer demands while staying within established cost targets.

    The Manufacturing Manager

    • Champions health and safety, environment, and 6S programs

    • Coordinates with Engineering and Quality to eliminate waste and improve process capability.

    • Uses continuous improvement tools and methodologies to troubleshoot recurring issues and eliminate root-cause process failures.

    • Assures availability of all resources necessary to operate the value stream, including adequate labor, technical and maintenance resources, and all other required direct support.

    • Coordinates with Production Control and associates to support schedule sequencing and proper schedule attainment.

    • Performs other related duties as required

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Results-driven with a demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

    • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with excellent attention to detail.

    • Ability to motivate, communicate and lead continuous improvement.

    • Excellent analytical abilities.

    • Solid planning, organization, and administrative skills.

    • Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business

    • 3-5 years of leadership managing salaried employees, including managers/supervisors

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a team-based environment

    • Greenbelt certification desired.

    • Project management experience
