    This position will provide support to the manufacturing engineering organization of our Otis Elevator facility in Florence, SC. The ideal candidate will have an industrial or manufacturing engineering background and have held proven ability of driving large change initiatives.

    • Ensures manufacturing processes, machine uptime >95%, 8D fully implemented in 45 days;

    • No downtime due manufacturing information (WI, OFS, BOM, CNC, Programs, Test parameters).

    • Oversee flawless CN Implementation, zero downtime in the work cells.

    • Design robust processes (Quality, Safety, Ergonomic, Efficient, Lean principles).

    • Certify production yields, new product introductions and cost reduction programs are in conformance with company objectives.

    • Work with manufacturing engineering team, testing and CNC programming peers.

    • Maintains a project portfolio structure and plan staffing level to accomplish operational and continuous improvement objectives with annual savings of $3M.

    • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of production process associates for process changes & new products.

    • Provides technical support for plant layout, purchase of equipment, upgrade of equipment, feasibility studies.

    • Identifies areas for improvement in processing efficiencies, capacity, energy, safety and environmental systems considering plan of annual savings of 10M.

    Minimum Education: BA/BS degree and 1-5 yrs of relevant experience

    Preferred Education: BS Engineering Degree

    Minimum Experience: 1 yr of relevant experience on MFG environment

    Preferred Experience: 2 yrs of relevant experience in MFG environment

    Experience/Qualifications

    • Manufacturing/Industrial support experience required.

    • Organization and people leadership responsibility required.

    • Microsoft Office (intermediate level MS Project, Excel and Power point skills).

    • Strong written & oral communication skills.

    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

    • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to facilitate change.

    • Understanding of lean principles and value stream mapping.

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 35 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception. Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: If item weighs more than 35 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift, or other lifting devices.

    ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES: Exposed to heat, noise, dust, dirt, and moving machinery, 100% inside work. Must be aware of moving machinery. Vision must meet job standards
