    Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations and Products division is currently seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Production Manager at the Decatur, IL. As a Maintenance Production Manager, you will supervise and provide leadership to a team of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians while adhering to Caterpillar's core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment, and sustainability. You will own the value stream metrics for your respective section and partner with support groups in the implementation of changes needed. You will drive continuous improvement efforts as well as practice and teach LEAN principles. Our Production Managers play a key role in our success by leading the production teams and maximizing efficiency in quality, velocity, and cost.     What you will do:

    -Identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to complex manufacturing operations equipment and processes.

    • Monitoring sophisticated equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.

    • Providing direct supervision, coaching and development for operations technical staff and support areas.

    • Leading maintenance support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.

    • Delegates tasks to the right people in managing a program or a group of people.

    • Explains processes on leading, motivating, evaluating, and developing people.

    • Coordinates work schedules and workloads for employees.

    • Transforms resistance into support and turns poor performers into team players.

    Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to support day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

    Level Extensive Experience

    • Facilitates communications across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the plant or facility.

    • Evaluates the risks and safety hazards present in maintenance operations.

    • Supervises daily operations to ensure maintenance targets and forecasts are achieved.

    • Employs tools and techniques required to complete maintenance tasks and goals.

    Maintenance Safety: Knowledge of safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

    Level Extensive Experience

    • Consults on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection.

    • Performs safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements.

    • Designs and implements emergency response processes and procedures.

    • Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations.

    • Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action.

    • Ensures that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
