    As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an experienced member of our Software Engineering Group we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation & engineering practices. You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals.

    Job responsibilities

    • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

    • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

    • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

    • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture

    • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

    • Engages with development teams throughout the life cycle of incident, ensure lessons learned are translated into automated or process adjust responses to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes

    • Designs best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end-to-end flow monitoring and noiseless alerting

    • Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience

    • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

    • Advanced in one or more programming language(s). 10+ years of experience working in Java & J2EE stack including Spring Framework and web services

    • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

    • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

    • Experience mentoring and grooming developer. Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals and passionate about building an innovative culture.

    • 5+ years of current extensive high-level enterprise architecture and software design

    • 2+ years of experience with public cloud Azure/GCP/AWS/private cloud (PCF), hands-on experience with services like S3, DynamoDB, EKS, SQS, MSK, KMS, ALB.

    • Hand-on experience with CI/CD, Devops best practices, BDD test automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Karate, infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.

    • 3+ years hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra

    • 3+ years hands-on experience with event driven app architecture such as Kafka

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes a plus.

    • Experience with running workloads on public cloud (AWS preferred) a plus.

    • Experience developing frameworks a plus.
