    We are seeking a mid-senior level Java Developer to join our New Account Opening Process (NAOP) team. New and existing bank customers across our six affiliate banks throughout the western United States use our NAOP system to apply for a wide array of accounts, including Checking, Savings, Credit Cards, and Loans. You will help build and maintain a key piece of our NAOP technology stack, which directly contributes to the success of our application.

    This Java Developer will be responsible for performing software development functions to support the NAOP application. This Java Developer will spend most of the time in hands-on, task-oriented, technical implementation of new feature development, new application development, and maintenance of existing code. The Java Developer will work in an Agile/SAFe environment with Solution Architects, Lead Developers, and Team Managers for planning and direction. We work in a team-oriented environment requiring significant collaboration with other development team members and other EPMO team members to facilitate project completion.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide support and maintenance for the NAOP application.

    • Be responsible for technical analysis, application development, application configuration, incident response and resolution, troubleshooting, testing, and source code management, and executing and managing change processes.

    • Work as a member of an Agile team. Develop software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs; conferring with stakeholders and IT Management; and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Perform software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test, and deploy software solutions.

    • Review, analyze, and evaluate business processes, procedures, and systems; and make recommendations for improvements and changes.

    • Manage source code version control system artifacts.

    • Design and maintain the oracle database schema and data supporting the NAOP application by preparing and executing SQL statements.

    • Work with the product team to design technical requirements and perform application changes.

    • Conduct unit testing, provide input for feasibility, and prepare systems documentation.

    • Apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.

    • Interact with various people in the organization to impact departmental objectives.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • 6+ years experience with software and/or application development using multiple technologies, languages, databases, integrations, frameworks, systems, application development, testing and troubleshooting or other directly related experience.

    • Extensive knowledge of Java and Java programming tools, JavaScript, Linux, Networking, SQL, Webservices/API, Secure Software Development Lifecycle, using application servers such as Tomcat, containers, cloud computing, IAM, SSO. Experience with Git, Kubernetes and DevOps is a plus.

    • Work within an environment with changing technologies and priorities, along with effectively prioritizing and handling multiple concurrent projects.

    • It is expected that you will have the ability to come up to speed quickly, utilize advanced software development skillsets, work independently and effectively in a team environment, and ultimately mentor and support those attempting to reach your level of expertise and beyond.

    • Experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW), or similar workflow products, is not required but is a plus.

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

    Location:

    This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

    The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah.
