Position Summary

Job Title: Interim Controller Must have SAP (FICO) experience

Location: Akron, Ohio (must be able to be onsite)

Duration: 6 Months (Estimated)

Responsibilities

1. Day-to-Day Controller Responsibilities:

2. Manage and lead the financial accounting team.

3. Oversee the closing of the books and financial reporting processes.

4. Review and analyze cash transactions, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions.

5. Develop and implement processes related to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and monitor for major swings, diagnosing problems and recommending solutions.

6. Ad Hoc Project Responsibilities:

7. Utilize SAP FICO knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with SAP implementation, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy.

8. Work with the Controller, CFO, outside consultants, and internal stakeholders, including a Private Equity (PE) firm, to address financial challenges and implement solutions.

9. Build out financial processes and controls where none currently exist, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

10. Provide insights and recommendations to improve the accuracy and reliability of financial statements and reporting.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a Controller role within a large, global company.

• Strong expertise in SAP FICO (highly preferred), including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving ERP implementation issues.

• Ability to lead and develop a financial accounting team.

• Proven track record in managing Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and addressing major swings in COGS.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, executives, consultants, and PE firms.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with messy financials, able to navigate challenges independently and provide proactive solutions.

• Experience in the chemicals industry or similar manufacturing sectors is a plus.

Travel Requirements: As needed to meet service-level requirements and for required business meetings

Salary range $70-$80/hr W2. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
