We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on VP of Human Resources with a strong background in the software industry to join our dynamic and fully remote team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be adept at working with software engineers and sales professionals, and demonstrate proficiency in navigating both the traditional and strategic aspects of HR. This role requires a candidate who is not only competent and sharp but also capable of gaining trust in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

1. Communication and Team Building:

2. Foster a positive remote work culture by implementing effective communication strategies and team-building initiatives.

3. Work closely with department heads to ensure alignment between HR practices and the unique needs of software engineers and sales teams.

4. Benefits Management:

5. Lead benefit renewal processes, collaborating with external providers to ensure competitive and comprehensive benefit offerings.

6. Address employee inquiries related to benefits, making complex information easily understandable.

7. Payroll and Compliance:

8. Oversee payroll operations for a multi-state and California workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

9. Stay current with payroll laws and industry trends to proactively address any changes that may impact the organization.

10. Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution:

11. Act as a trusted advisor for employees, providing guidance on HR-related matters and conflict resolution.

12. Conduct investigations and address employee relations issues with empathy and fairness.

13. Strategic HR Planning:

14. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.

15. Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, contributing to the continuous enhancement of HR processes.

5. Benefits and Payroll Knowledge:

6. In-depth knowledge of benefits administration, including experience managing benefit renewals.

7. Proficiency in multi-state and California payroll processing, staying informed about relevant regulations.

8. Communication and Trust-building:

9. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex HR information in an easily understandable manner.

10. Proven track record of building trust within a remote work environment.

11. Strategic Thinking and Hands-on Approach:

12. Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with overall business goals.

13. Hands-on approach with a VP or Head of Human Resources level of experience, capable of managing both strategic and day-to-day operational aspects of HR functions.
