We are seeking a Facilities Engineer for our NASA NACS High Performance Computing contract.

    Summary : You will be an active member of the ASRC Federal team, interacting with the Program Manager, Site Lead, Customer, and site staff attending regularly scheduled customer meetings to keep the customer informed of activities and progress, answer customer inquiries concerning all aspects of the various HPC systems and private and public cloud infrastructures.

    We are looking for a talent with 5-10 years of facilities experience. This person will assist a team lead in work that involves assisting in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the various data centers on campus. The candidate will be asked to research new technologies to present to the team lead, architect and customer. General software and linux command line knowledge is a plus.

    Duties and Responsibilities :

    • Assisting senior engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.

    • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and facilities (daily [when on-site person] sweep of building 28 and cloud container, bi-monthly (every other) check on building 32,) to identify maintenance and repair needs.

    • Data Center walk throughs to seek out anomalies in operating systems, including unusual, sounds, lights, and other sensory anomalies. Record and report found issues to team lead.

    • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and facilities. Understand when we need to escalate to agency facilities and act as interface with site facilities on projects we must involve them in.

    • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new building systems and equipment.

    • Managing and maintaining building automation systems and controls.

    • Understand and be able to utilize IT Technology used to for automating systems and controls.

    • Experience in using the Confluence application for maintaining facilities records.

    • Monitoring and analyzing energy consumption and recommending ways to improve energy efficiency.

    • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

    • Managing vendor relationships and contracts for outsourced facilities services.

    • Managing and creating MOSI tickets when directed by team lead.

    • Providing technical support to building occupants and addressing their maintenance requests.

    • Participating in emergency response activities and coordinating with other departments to ensure the safety of building occupants during emergencies.

    • Assisting IT engineers in installing IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems.

    • Assist with tracking of power utilizations and plan for future power requirements via Enivronet and other tools.

    • Maintain documentation of data center, including Visio drawings, power location, power utilization, cooling utilization, etc.

    • Responsible for the FLIR report to manually double check the heating and cooling sensors.

    • Responsible for helping to reduce waste in the data center by working with individual teams to verify excess components that can be removed from the data center.

    • Learning safety requirements and regulations for proper data center operations as indicated by the agency and NIST.

    • Keep track of standard preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment. And communicate and coordinate with effected teams.

    • Participating in on-call rotation and responding to emergencies outside of normal business hours. On-call is considered to be a 24-hour shift agreed upon by the team in advance.

    ASRC Federal InuTeq is seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our team in support of NASA's Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS) project. ASRC Federal InuTeq provides facilities services throughout the NCCS Environment for infrastructure and operations to federal government customers.     Requirements :

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Five (5) or more years of experience in Facilities related roles.

    • Understanding of power, cooling and other environmental systems in a data center.

    • Technical ability to perform availability assessments of electrical distribution topologies and evaluate power/load demands.

    • Experience with datacenter facilities such as HVAC, PDU, and UPS.

    • Familiarity with information technology equipment architectures.

    • Experience with power monitoring systems and software.

    • Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Experience with Vertiv/Liebert products and software is a plus.

    • Experience with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Server a plus.
