    A client of Insight Global is now looking for an Engineering Site Manager based in our Pittsburgh, PA headquarters. Our Power & Water Solutions business focuses on upgrading existing plant control systems with the industry leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.

    1. Project Oversight:

    2. Inspect the construction site: Regularly visit the site to assess progress, safety compliance, and adherence to engineering standards.

    3. Coordinate with teams: Meet with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions.

    4. Resource Management:

    5. Allocate resources: Ensure that materials, equipment, and personnel are available as needed.

    6. Budget monitoring: Keep track of project expenses, approve invoices, and manage costs.

    7. Quality Assurance:

    8. Quality checks: Verify that work meets engineering specifications and quality standards.

    9. Address issues: Identify and resolve any deviations or deficiencies promptly.

    10. Risk Management:

    11. Risk assessment: Evaluate potential risks (e.g., safety hazards, delays) and implement mitigation strategies.

    12. Safety protocols: Enforce safety protocols to protect workers and prevent accidents.

    13. Communication and Reporting:

    14. Meetings: Attend project meetings, update stakeholders, and address concerns.

    15. Documentation: Maintain records, prepare progress reports, and document site activities.

    16. Problem Solving:

    17. Adapt to challenges: Address unexpected issues (e.g., weather disruptions, design changes) effectively.

    18. Decision-making: Make informed decisions based on project priorities and constraints.

    19. Team Support and Leadership:

    20. Motivate the team: Encourage collaboration, teamwork, and a positive work environment.

    21. Resolve conflicts: Mediate disputes and foster productive relationships.

    22. Long-Term Planning:

    23. Project vision: Keep the big picture in mind and align daily actions with long-term project goals.

    24. Continuous improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement and implement changes.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    · When traveling on a job site:

    Implement outage plans during installation and commissioning of control system retrofit projects with an emphasis on site safety

    Lead Emerson team members through complex outages and coordinate activities such as demolition, installation, loop checks, functional checks, startup and tuning

    Integrate multiple subcontractors and Emerson employees as one team by providing clear direction

    Support a variety of DCS retrofit applications such as BOP systems, steam turbines, gas turbines, PV solar, and hydro

    Oversee the progress of craft labor teams and ensure the entire project scope is performed

    Be the customer's single point of contact and communicate with the internal Emerson team

    Create and communicate daily work status reports including action plans

    Maintain the outage schedule and resource plan and minimize financial impacts to Emerson

    Be able to tackle problems in a short period of time to achieve project success

    Ensure customer satisfaction while onsite, from pre-outage through final acceptance

    · When remote/ in office:

    While not supporting outages, you will participate in contractor walkdowns, prepare Scope of Work documents, assist with cost estimates and offers, engage in pre-outage planning and preparation, provide technical guidance to project teams, and work with sub-contractors to develop relationships

    Skills and Requirements

    Must Haves

    · Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ideally controls or elec.) or a related field

    · 7+ YOE in a related field

    Proven and recurring success working in construction, engineering, or project management roles

    Comfortable with traveling 50-60% Pluses:

    · Familiarity with Ovation, WDPF and other DCS and PLC manufacturers I/O and cabinet layouts.

    · Experience in power generation or related industry

    · Knowledge or electrical and mechanical equipment and associated field I/O

    · PMP Certification

    OSHA 30 null
