  • Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Designer in the Detroit area for a large automotive client. The main function of the Designer is to develop and design manufactured products, such as cars and home appliances. A typical design engineer needs to combine artistic talent with research on product use, marketing, and materials to create the most functional and appealing product design.

    Job Responsibilities

    - Design highly complex components and simple sub-systems

    - Provide technical design leadership for a major sub-systems

    - Mentor and coach other designers

    - Ensure communication between sub-system groups

    - Verify quality to design team output

    - Lead design reviews

    - Resolve technical design conflicts

    - Assess buildability, manufacturability and integration with Lead Design Engineer and Design Managers

    - Advise first line supervises of project status, timing, resource availability and capability

    - Assist in establishing design completion dates

    Skills and Requirements

    - Bachelor's degree in industrial design, architecture or engineering or related experience

    - 8+ years of experience working in the automotive industry in design engineering

    - Advaned knowledge of Unigraphic software

    • Previous experience in drafting/drawing - Masters degree in industrial design, architecture or engineering or related experience

    • Experience in chassis or engine focus null
