    Job Summary

    Responsible for the effective planning, optimization and verification of Startup and Commissioning efforts associated with gas projects performed by Gas Major Projects. Project assignments normally include but are not limited to Point of Delivery Stations (POD), District Regulator Stations, Gas Measurement Building, and SCADA. This effort includes organizing, staffing, coordination, developing commissioning policies and procedures and supervision on site staff in the commissioning of assigned project.

    Position will report to the Senior Director/ Director Startup Commissioning.

    Principle Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provideoversight for commissioning of projects being implemented by Gas Major Projects organization.

    • Optimize the effectiveness of the contractors that are assigned by being the central point of contact for all the Startup and Commissioning functions.

    • Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the Core 4 Responsibilities, NiSource Health and Safety manual, and ensuring a safe working environment focused on safe operations with zero incidents.

    • Actively participate in 30/60/90 percent project reviews meetings.

    • Identifyand support of the development of new or revised processes/procedures governing Startup and Commissioning functions.

    • Provide training for Gas Major Projects andSystem Operations/GM&T personnel on Startup and Commissioning processes.

    • Develop and manage the effective completion of startup activities for assigned projects with respect to safety, scope, schedule and budget.

    • Provide effective identification and timely resolution of startup issues and monitor the plan to closure.

    • Direct and lead the Startup staff to effectively interface with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Project Engineers, Project Managers, Inspection Services Staff, System Operations and GM&T personnel regarding all startup and commissioning issues.

    • Assure the planning of startup efforts is consistent and compliant with project plans.

    • Demonstrate accountability for project assignments.

    • Develop and manage the startup budget and schedule with guidance from the Director for the assigned project.

    • Inspect work to ensure safety and environmental policies are being followed and that the project is being commissioned per the specifications, drawings and environmental permits.

    • Effectively manage site conflicts to resolve disputes.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications for Position

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering programs / Technical programs accredited by ABET or 6 years equivalent job knowledge and/or experience.

    • Requires a minimum of 2 years field experience related to startup activities or 6 years of experience including work in one or more of the following areas: Measurement and Regulation, Project Management, Engineering,

    • Strong knowledge of on-the-job safety & compliance requirements.

    • Extensive travel required.

    $107,000.00 - $160,500.00
