    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

    What you will do in this role

    • Manages the daily Surgical Services Schedule efficiently to ensure all decisions, actions and team performance meets the needs of key customers and stakeholders.

    • Assists all staff to achieve their potential as members of an effective team by providing opportunities for employee development including educational activities.

    • Serves as resource and mentor for staff in the clinical arena.

    • Assumes responsibility for decisions and actions in the lead clinical role.

    • Demonstrates clinical competence in OR nurse role with ability to provide coverage to other modalities when needed, including call coverage.

    • Communicates effectively with staff, peers, director, and external and internal customers.

    • Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/department process.

    • Maintains departmental documentation. Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.

    • Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within the unit's Scope of Service.

    • Pursues own professional growth and development.

    • Manages expenses to stay within budgetary guidelines.

    • Actively participates in activities to recruit and maintain staff.

    • Key member of process improvement initiative teams, committees which address hospital and departmental goals and other such duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.

    • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures; supports the mission of the hospital.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Required Two (2) years of current Nursing in which leadership and management abilities have been demonstrated.

    • Required Nursing graduate with RN diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing

    • Required At least two (2) years of OR Staff RN experience.

    • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    • Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation.

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

    • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
