    The UW Autism Center (UWAC) is devoted to supporting families affected by autism spectrum disorders through exceptional clinical services, innovative scientific research and high-quality training. UWAC is part of the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Washington and incorporates faculty and staff from the UW School of Medicine, College of Arts & Sciences, and College of Education.

    The UWAC currently has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) (Continuing Education Specialist 3 (E S 8)). This individual will work among a team of professionals, including licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, behavior analysts, behavior technicians, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows. The main function of this position is to do clinical work with clients in our clinic and or/their homes.

    On our ABA team this position includes designing, implementing and modifying direct intervention and instructional programs for children, adolescents, and adults with autism using evidence-based interventions.

    The position will support the Autism Center-wide policies and procedures and workload standards. The position requires specialized training and expertise related to autism and the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations. Opportunities to develop new programs are available and encouraged. This position will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services for the UW Autism Center.

    The UW Autism Center Clinical Program is one of the largest service providers for autism spectrum disorders in the region and is considered a national and international leader. This position will play a central role in the UWAC.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position will include providing clinical services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

    On the ABA team (80%):

    • Provide individual skills training for children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorders.

    • Supervise behavior technicians who work with clients in their homes or a clinic setting.

    • Provide consultation to community providers who work with patients in order to develop continuity in care for the patient and their family.

    • Meet minimum of 60% billable expectation.

    • Complete initial client/patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, referral letters, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.

    • Complete paperwork within required time frame.

    • Meet assigned deadlines.Perform related duties as required, including but not limited to (20%):

    • Participate in community activities and events.

    • Collaborate with other clinical team members in assessment and intervention and consult with other members of clinical team regarding diagnosis and intervention strategies, as needed.

    • Keep appropriate records of services provided and coordinate with the billing office and direct supervisor regarding services to meet billable expectations.

    • Supervise undergraduate and graduate practicum students and volunteers and evaluate their performance.

    • Attend weekly staff meetings, other meetings as necessary. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • LBA license from Washington state DOH and BCBA certification.

    • Master's degree in applied behavior analysis, education, or related field.

    • 2+ years of experience in working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.

    • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience teaching and designing programs for students with autism spectrum disorders, including collaboration with general education teachers, school administrators, related services personnel and outside community providers.
