    Your Opportunity

    Stantec Government Services is looking for a BIM Technician. With direction from multiple Project Managers and Project Designers, you will assist in the preparation of plans, drawings, details, and speci?cations in accordance with client standards and speci?cations.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Set up new Revit models and occasional CAD drawings and maintain ?le structure for projects.

    • Work with Project Managers and technical design staff to prepare drawing documentation.

    • Skillfully work in both Revit and AutoCAD, including maintaining multiple models, creating/maintaining views and view templates, using advanced telecommunications- related features of the applications, and accurate element placement.

    • Create electronic data ?les in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.

    • Convert redlines to document-ready work.

    • Publish, post, and manage drawing sets.

    • Maintain model and drawing revisions.

    • Assist other staff with Revit and AutoCAD issues and mentor design staff in Design Technology systems use.

    • Add insight and make recommendations to add e?ciencies and value to BIM and CAD production.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Strong working knowledge of recent versions of Revit and AutoCAD; and how they are applied within the built environment.

    • Strong working knowledge of Building Information Modeling.

    • Revit family creation and maintenance.

    • Skilled at clash detection in Revit.

    • Client-centric, can-do approach to project work and assignments.

    • Familiarity with methods of design to support the architectural/engineering ?eld.

    • High level of initiative, with ability to synthesize new technologies, industry trends, and client needs to make recommendations and initiative changes that add e?ciency and value.

    • Ability to multi-task and synthesize multiple data points and instructions to timely produce accurate deliverables.

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft O?ce.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Have a valid driver's license with good driving record

    • Position requires a pre-employment drug screen.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in AEC related ?eld (required)

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience with Revit and AutoCAD MEP, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Related experience in the architectural/engineering/contractor industry.

    • Familiarity with mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and technology design within the built environment is preferred.

    Typical o?ce environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
