    Job Summary

    Comcast's Connected Living team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Connected Living Pro-Monitored Security Platform team. This group is responsible for creating the services and applications supporting Comcast's Pro-Monitored Home Security, Home Network Management, and Internet of Things products.

    You can join our team in Austin (preference) or be 100% remote or virtual.

    Core Responsibilities

    As a Senior Engineer on our team in Austin, Texas, you will collaborate with designers, QA analysts, product managers, and engineers at varying levels of the organization to guide solution design and technical requirements for the Connected Living Pro-Monitored Security platform. Most of your time will be spent writing code for all steps in the software development lifecycle, however there are many chances to create an impact across the company through innovation programs, an interactive culture, and community outreach.

    You must be a great teammate and be able to adapt to changing business and customer demands. The ideal candidate can articulate what they have learned from past engineering experiences, whether it was operating a web service at scale or solving a problem for an audience of one. Job duties include a balance between development and fast-paced critical thinking, communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with one or more Object Oriented Programming languages

    • Experience with Java/Spring Boot, Go, and/or AWS services

    • Experience with writing RESTful API specification and a strong understanding of the HTTP protocol

    • Experience with eventing and event driven architectures

    • Capability to debug code and triage production issues using system traces/logs/metrics

    • Ability to use Command Line Interface for a variety of operations

    • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows best practices

    • A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies

    • Excellent communication skills
