Position As a Senior Network and Application Performance Engineer you will help solve government customers network, application, and server capacity/performance issues. This job combines engineering disciplines with a business focus for delivering performance recommendations. Candidate will utilize OPNETs software to plan, design, deploy, operate, and optimize service provider infrastructures. The assignment location and duration will vary. Additional tasks include but are not limited to:
Perform network capacity planning and performance analyses with IT Guru Network Planner, VNE Server, ACE Perform network design analysis and configuration validation Analyze and understand clients requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes Produce a solution that fulfills clients needs within budget and schedule constraints Collect network performance information required for simulation modeling studies Perform server capacity planning and performance analyses for UNIX and Windows based platforms Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions Based at client site for significant assignments, some work in Bethesda HQ
Requirements:
Heres what you should bring to the table:
BS degree in an Engineering discipline with 3+ years of communication network design and/or analysis experience Hold an active Top Secret security clearance Willingness to travel extensively A thorough technical understanding of communication networks (designs, protocols, components, and operations) A fundamental technical understanding of multi-tier application architectures and performance issues A professional, take-charge style An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people A scientific passion for precision and the evolving art of network design and planning OPNET software experience Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art.
