Primary Purpose of Position:The Senior HR Business Partner will provide HR guidance and drive the implementation of regional HR initiatives in performance management, coaching, employee relations, training and professional development for employees in assigned region(s). In alignment with business strategy and in partnership with HR colleagues, this role will spearhead regional efforts to implement, coordinate, and maintain HR programs, policies, and processes, while providing strong HR technical expertise to support regional and HR departmental goals. The Senior HRBP is responsible for establishing, building and maintaining effective relationships and partnerships with all levels of employees within their assigned region and will work in cross collaboration with the HR Talent Acquisition Partner, Total Rewards team, and other members of HR.Essential Functions:Performance Management, Coaching, Training & Developmentâ€¢ Implement HR initiatives to build the human capital of the BXP through performance management, coaching, and training and development to motivate individuals to achieve their maximum potential.â€¢ Further build the Company's human capital via career path planning, including cross-training and developmental assignments that prepare individuals for advancement. Successfully identify and address gaps in competency, knowledge and skill sets.â€¢ Guide the region through performance management, talent management, and similar practices that align with the values and mission of BXP. Coach management to set clear, meaningful goals and objectives, and use metrics to measure performance. Continually build upon and improve these areas for the employee population, and implement HR projects across the organization. â€¢ Oversee organizational training and development efforts in assigned region(s) to include the research, development and delivery of training courses (both platform and e-learning) and other employee engagement initiatives. â€¢ Serve as an internal consultant and coach to leadership teams, managers, and colleagues on all HR and people management issues. Deliver impact through influence and empathy.â€¢ Possess and model strong business ethics, integrity, and accountability consistent with the values of the HR department and Company. Employee Relationsâ€¢ Serve as a role model to others and actively uphold the values of BXP by promoting diversity, inclusion, equality and transparency in the workplace. Support D & I Committee and Talent Acquisitions team to develop effective strategies to recruit and attract a more diverse applicant pool and develop and increase management practices and policies that emphasize inclusion, participation, retention and empowerment of underrepresented people in the organization.â€¢ Create a positive employee relations environment through timely response to inquiries or issues, including the coaching of managers and leaders around sensitive employee issues.â€¢ Manage employee relations issues from beginning to end, including partnering with employees on performance improvement plans, investigating complaints, issuing performance warnings, and managing separations, all while mitigating risks/ensuring compliance and proper documentation of employee relations cases. As warranted, partner with CHRO, SVP HR and CLO, SVP, General Counsel on complex issues.â€¢ Provide guidance to managers and employees in the use and consistent application of company policies and practices and employment laws/regulations.â€¢ Guide or conduct thorough non-biased investigations.â€¢ Acts as liaison to resolve disputes.â€¢ Provide excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills and a keen awareness of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, and other employment related laws and regulations.â€¢ Assist in administration of compensation program and policies.â€¢ Conduct, compile and analyze exit interviews and prepare turnover data to determine trends and advise on initiatives to engage and retain valued staff.â€¢ Demonstrate discretion and professionalism for all staff at all times.Project Management â€¢ With direction from regional leadership, develop and execute programs to meet regional human capital business needs and engagement goals.â€¢ Effectively interface with all departments of the Company and outside vendors and represent the Company in a highly professional manner.â€¢ Organize and maintain work flow and follow up tasks, action items, business decisions, issues and questions to ensure project is meeting deadlines and delivered on schedule.â€¢ Actively think both strategically and creatively to make appropriate recommendations and/or interpretations on project planning and execution.Pandemic Response Managementâ€¢ Pandemic related responsibilities to address COVID-19. These currently include providing guidance on regulations, responding to employees self-reporting symptoms of or exposure to COVID-19, directing next steps (testing, quarantine, remote work), working in partnership with regional teams and office management to provide appropriate employee notifications, contact tracing, office repopulation efforts, and addressing policies and other initiatives to comply with state and BXP Health Security Task Force protocols related to COVID-19. Requirements and Qualifications:â€¢ A BA/BS degree required.â€¢ 7-10 years Human Resources experience required, experience in employee relations highly valued, PHR preferred.â€¢ Proven ability to maintain discretion in confidential situations.â€¢ Ability to educate and influence decisions based on policies, process, protocol, and market intelligence.â€¢ Operates with an appreciation for the delicate balance between consistency and flexibility to meet Corporate/Regional needs.â€¢ Experience working within an organizational structure with multiple locations/regions requiring exceptional relationship building skills.â€¢ Results- oriented and a self-starter who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to "rolling up the sleeves" and getting the job done with minimal support and direction.â€¢ Serves as an HR and BXP ambassador who displays effective judgment and strong relationship and interpersonal skills; and the ability to interface with all levels across the entire organization.Internal and External Contacts:â€¢ Interfaces regularly with HR colleagues, Corporate & Regional teams, consultants and vendors.â€¢ Interfaces regularly with all levels of employees within Boston Properties.Reporting Structure: Reports to CHRO, SVP Human Resources who provides supervision, guidance, and evaluates work performance on a periodic basis.
