Human Resources Analyst – Employment

Chesterfield County's Department of Human Resources is seeking a Human Resources Analyst. Assists with coordinating the county's recruitment and selection processes; provide consultation to assigned departments; reviews new hire paperwork to ensure that county policies and practices have been followed; facilitates new employee orientation for onboarding new hires; reviews new hire paperwork to ensure it is accurate and complete; processes electronic personnel actions for employment transactions; handles inquiries from applicants regarding the application and hiring process; reviews and approves DMV record check requests; trains new department liaisons on employment policies and procedures; represents the county at career fairs and community outreach programs; reviews employment processes for automation enhancements as needed; serves as HR representative on interview panels as requested; develops written and statistical HR reports on a routine basis. Performs other work as required. This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on qualifications, performance and experience. Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Public Administration or a related field; two years of professional experience in human resources, preferably in employment areas of recruitment and selection; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. HR certification and three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Strong personal computer skills including Microsoft applications and an aptitude to learn other computer software required. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet strict deadlines. Good knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, EEO laws, and local government.
