  • Friends School Mullica Hill, a Quaker day school serving 163 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade, seeks a dynamic and experienced education professional to serve as Director of Enrollment and Program, effective January 3, 2022.

    The Director of Enrollment and Program reports directly to the Head of School, is a member of the administrative team, and carries a significant leadership role in carrying out the school's mission and strategic vision. The Director oversees all aspects of recruitment, admissions, enrollment, re-enrollment, and tuition assistance. The Director also facilitates programs directly related to optimizing teaching and learning and enhancing school life. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Leadership

    • Advance the school's mission and vision.

    • Collaborate closely with the Head of School, administrative team, lead teachers, and faculty and staff in implementing plans and policies established by the Board of Trustees and Head of School in accordance with the strategic vision.

    • Collaborate closely with the Head of School to create a safe and healthy culture and sense of community to ensure an environment in which learning can take place.

    • Assist in the scheduling and execution of school events.

    • Participate in the hiring, orientation, and retention of faculty and staff.

    • Build strong relationships with faculty and staff to support and assist them in carrying out the school's mission and vision.

    • Provide counsel and support to the Head of School on matters related to the operation and life of the school.

    • Work closely with the Head of School on other tasks as assigned.

    Enrollment

    • Develop comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to achieve the school's annual and long-range enrollment objectives and financial goals.

    • Act as the primary contact for all families who express an interest in Friends School Mullica Hill.

    • Promote Friends School Mullica Hill in the community.

    • Conduct the admissions process for all prospective students and families, including but not limited to inquiry follow-up, parent meetings, personal tours, records collection, file review, and admissions committee meetings.

    • Facilitate student visits and screenings, including coordination and communication with appropriate faculty members.

    • Organize admissions-related events including orientation for new families.

    • Record enrollment data consistently and report at administrative, faculty, and board meetings. Complete all required NAIS (DASL), NJAIS, and FCE statistical surveys.

    • Manage the tuition assistance, merit grant, and Quaker grant processes. Provide support to families with inquiries, questions, and appeals.

    • Communicate regularly with parents so as to create a cooperative relationship that increases parent participation in the life of the school.

    • Attend closely with colleagues to promote student retention.

    • Attend occasional PLC meetings to monitor student progress and school-family relationships.

    • Attend appropriate professional development opportunities.

    • Network with other enrollment and education professionals.

    • Visit feeder schools and competing schools.

    Program

    • Work closely with faculty in ongoing curriculum review and revision.

    • Support teachers in their professional growth by engaging in the Professional Growth Plan process.

    • Provide and oversee professional development for teachers, particularly in the areas of inquiry-based, transdisciplinary, project-based, and service learning.

    • Support faculty, students, and parents in cases of student behavior and discipline by meeting, following-through, and corresponding with students, faculty, parents, the school psychologist, and staff regarding such issues, and record keeping in accordance with school policies.

    • Oversee travel and service programs, including the week-long eighth grade capstone trip.

    • Develop partnerships and relationships with peer schools (local and international), Rowan University, and other organizations to enhance programs.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    • Hold a bachelor's or higher degree.

    • Have significant relevant experience in a school setting, including academic leadership and classroom teaching.

    • Have a collaborative leadership style and work closely with the administrative team, faculty, and staff.

    • Be an effective administrator who plans well, takes initiative, effectively manages day to day operations, and follows through with objectives.

    • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both written and orally.

    • Demonstrate warmth, high energy, flexibility, a sense of humor, and enthusiasm for all aspects of school life.

    • Demonstrate an appreciation for working in a small Quaker school with a diverse population.

    • Complete all required background checks and satisfy all safety requirements for working in a school setting.
