Chief Architect
The Chief Architect oversees the development, maturation, and integration of enterprise architectures based on customer provided requirements to meet customer needs. They are responsible for the design, development, execution and deployment of an enterprise architecture program.
The Chief Architect:
- defines, facilitates and develops baseline architecture models that support the needs of program functional software and hardware components.
- identifies and recommends appropriate application of the enterprise architecture to meet specific business needs.
- supports analysis of existing architectures to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, obsolescence, technology support gaps, and identifying reuse components.
- supports the simulation of business process and application/technology service alternatives for the target architecture direction including assistance for hardware selection or reuse.
- recommends and supports in the implementation of a governance structure for managing the enterprise architecture.
- directs requirements analysis and develops project plans, schedules and budgets in consultation with the Chief Engineer and Project Manager.
- oversees software integration, designing and deploying SOA, interfaces, and COTS integration in a complex project environment with web interfaces, complex business rules, and multiple COTS products. Leads medium and large cross-functional software development projects as a Senior Technical Manager or Project Manager.
- leads a Cross-functional software project environment with ability to influence teams to achieve complex project goals.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate will have project management experience in the integration of legacy and new systems in a Federal environment. The candidate will have progressive experience in leading diverse teams, including subcontractor staff and be a proven results-oriented leader. Candidate must have extensive knowledge and understanding of managing complex software integration projects within similar operational environments and have significant industry experience working directly with government management. Successful candidate will have exposure to a vast array of different technologies, platforms, service delivery approaches, and customer mission objectives. Understanding and experience with national-level Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED) systems is recommended. Candidate will have a diverse professional background within IT and the Federal marketplace. The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written skills and be able to facilitate sophisticated discussions and retain team focus on objectives.
Preferred Skills: IC systems in general, especially DCGS, CRMS and IESS; Department of Defense Architecture Model (DoDAF) 2.0; Unified Modeling Language (UML) proficiency; Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and design patterns; Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Domain Knowledge, RTM 2.1, GEMS 2.0 and GEOSCOUT. The candidate should have 18+ years experience in an IT environment, preferably Federal.

Level 5 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 6 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 20 or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with 15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
