Qualifications for this position include understanding of top-level customer requirements, architectural considerations, and cost/schedule/performance tradeoffs for SIGINT, COMINT, IMINT, or MASINT systems. A successful candidate must have the capability to organize, plan, implement, and evaluate engineering activities across multiple engineering disciplines as required for complex proposals and R&D projects associated with SIGINT, COMINT, IMINT, or MASINT systems. Experience in assessing engineering trades and directing methods of resolution for complex engineering problems is also required. Current understanding of, and contacts within, SIGINT, COMINT, IMINT, or MASINT customers are required. Education Requirements: BS required; MS/PhD desired - or equivalent years of relevant experience. Candidates must be able to obtain the relevant DoD security clearance. Mid-level technical position typically responsible for design/development activities or technical oversight of persons assigned to same or cross-functional discipline (aeronautical, electrical, mechanical, RF, software, or systems engineering). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements. This includes generation of Engineering Program Plans (EPPs) in accordance with the Technical Management and Planning (TMAP) process, part of SNCs Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP). Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities. Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews. Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements. Provide estimates of labor hours and material dollars required to accomplish design and development activities. Direct/lead the technical activities of other engineers. Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific field of study or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred. An average of four to 8 years work experience in positions involving design and development of system architectures, hardware configuration items, or software configuration items typical of those required in SNC development programs is considered adequate. SKILLS REQUIRED: A demonstrated ability to successfully perform at the Engineer I level for a minimum period of one year is required.
