The Tri Cities are located in eastern Washington, near the Department of Energy Hanford Reservation. Job Duties/Responsibilities Summary • Research and understand specifications related to work scope and properly comply with them in preparation of cost reports and estimate packages • Perform quantity takeoffs using drawings and specifications • Prepare engineering estimates and cost data in support of bids/proposals, third party estimates, and claims • Evaluate/analyze cost and schedule criteria and prepare status reports; prepare/maintain construction schedules • Prepare complete bid/cost packages, including scope of work, bid, and project schedules • Coordinate/communicate with vendors; maintain vendor/supplier database • Prepare material difference estimate packages; analyze claims • Perform value engineering estimates RC Construction Services, Inc. provides construction management and construction support to federal, public works, commercial, industrial, private, and environmental construction industries nationwide. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Must be able to meet site access requirements for federal facilities. The candidate will have a firm understanding of construction practices and market pricing for civil/heavy construction, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and structures. The candidate will have demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, good communication skills, and demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with applications in the Microsoft Office Suite. Additional qualifications include: • Minimum of 8 years cost engineering or heavy construction estimating experience required; bachelor degree in engineering or construction management desirable, or a combination of equivalent education and directly-related experience • Must be proficient with Excel and MS Word • Proficiency with MS Access, Primavera (P3 or newer), MS Project preferred • Experience with demolition and/or environmental remediation highly desired • Proficiency with estimating applications such as Richardson, RS Means and Equipment Watch (Blue Book) is desirable • Ability to review design drawing, perform takeoffs, develop quantities and utilize other information from completed projects to develop estimated quantities and costs. • Experience with construction at federal and military facilities, FARS and other federal contracting and cost-related regulations highly desired
